Wow the writing here is so so stunning I feel I just deeply connected with my inner child who loved to enter the world of books and travel in those landscapes and with those characters. You know, I always said I loved to write and it's my favourite medium for expression and art, but I never labeled myself a writer. I don't know why. But this week I've been visioning for my business, joined a women's group of substackers and now stumbled on your page and I feel like...I am a writer. I'm a writer. How exciting! I'm going to play with this exercise, with my writing style, and start to treat this space along with my other spaces with a lot more intentionality and alignment to the imagery and sensations of the world I'm creating in my little slice of the internet. I’m thinking cosy coffee shop vibes where you escape from the rain to enjoy a favourite hot drink and chat with good friends about recent reads and stories. Just across the road is an enormous library: you all tumble out of the coffee shop and into the library armed with each other’s recommendations and eager to dive into the stories they’ve shared. This is an incredibly helpful post, especially for those of us trying to figure out how to bring our complex selves to our writing and to our audience. It can be hard shape our virtual substack spaces as a whole, giving it that sense of home and love that we wish people to experience, and transmitting the energy we are truly experiencing as we write across the space, not just within each piece. I found the visualization exercise incredibly revealing and I could begin to take action right away... Thank you!

I was moving houses yesterday and missed the „deadline“, so posting my vision of the space here again, hoping others will follow to inspire each other even more in the comments! It’s so beautiful to read different visions, like a little inner worlds tour on Substack.
Well, here is a part of mine for you:
You are enchanted by a unique song calling you forward.
Edwina Masson Is playing at an entrance, each tune effortlessly flowing into your personality as you step closer to a big portal filled with incense smoke, it is a step into the unknown but it comes with a mystical pull that makes you close your eyes and walk through.
Once entered the air feels fresh, almost cool and you observe the smoke dance in the breeze towards the huge open windows and just as you are asked to take off your shoes and feel the gently rough wool rugs and fluffy sheep skins underneath your bare feet you are being warmed by the sun rays that stream in from the south facing terrace door.
The room is spacious and the further you walk towards the centre, the less you can hear the music and the more you become aware of the bird songs outside and a gurgling and rushing sound of a river stream in the distance.
You look around the room, and see simple cushions on the floor, linen blankets for warm and woollen ones for cooler days. The walls, painted in a pale sage green with golden highlights are almost empty except for shelves with books and candles should the sun ever decide to set. Giving it a clear and relaxed atmosphere in which there is space for your own thoughts to emerge. Space to sit down and go within.
Bitter Cacao is offered to those that want to confront themselves with compassion towards their journey. Don’t worry about spoiling on the wooden floor boards or rugs, we love the little stains that tell us tales of heartbreak and joy, hardship and hope. They make us feel like we can’t go wrong, and don’t need to be perfect. Nothing is pristine white here.
Rose infused honey mead is served to those that want to create or step outside for a dance with the woodland fairies and river nymphs. (Children’s laughter might be out there, too).
And red wine or herbal infusions for the elegant co workers in the corner with the plug ins, to charge devices and type away on the keyboard or show each other the latest find and Inspiration from the virtual world.
All in all it is a place to be you, away from distractions of the noisy world, to remember. To nerd out about mythology and legends in the abbey ruins and sacred grove, or to share modern faerytales in the chatty corner and smile when a dragonfly found its way in to say hello.
A place to be vulnerable and to remind each other of courage, beauty and magic.
From which we return with sparkly eyes and empowered motivation to fill our sovereign lives with magic at home.
I just imagined this as to be so special, everyone having their own entrance music, sounds of their soul that is calling. As my writings are coming from my life’s lens but will play individual strings in each of the readers and hopefully lead to reflections and exchange of many points of view.
